Another Ear Infection? Seriously.
I just don't get it! Why do we have to always chase a symptom and then give it a drug that we know will not help. Ear infections should be left alone. Sure they hurt like crazy, are uncomfortable, cause fever and are scary - let the infection run its course. An ear infection is the body's reaction to germs or a virus moving into the ear. The body naturally fights off these germs by increasing its temperature through fever and sending white blood cells to fight it - this is the pus we see.
At some point, parents have got to say "enough is enough." That is exactly what my husband and I did. Our daughter was forever in the pediatrician's office with an ear infection. We did everything we were told. We even gave her antibiotics (even crushing the pill form because she did not know how to swallow a pill). We finally sought out Chiropractic care. Her overall health improved dramatically and NO more ear infections. So, when our son started showing signs of an ear infection, we increased his visits to the Chiropractor an let it run its course.
How does a parent just sit there and watch their child suffer in pain? It was tough. Within a day or so of his symptoms appearing, his white blood cells were producing enough pus that the fluid "popped" out of the ear and the pain was gone. We kept his ear clean and had him rest in addition to regular Chiropractic care and he was and is perfectly fine. That was his first and last ear infection and NO tubes. He is know 19 years old.
